Here are two watercolor demos from my last classes. The class on figures was well received. A couple students have decided they really like doing people. One lady had never done a figure before and her little Amish boy turned out so well that I was shocked to learn it was her first person painting ever. She'd always been afraid to try them.
The pine cones divided students. Some did them very well and others just couldn't paint the pine cone. We found a pine cone that hadn't opened up yet, and they had an easier time with that one.
This summer I'm working in the studio and giving lots of thought on how to sell paintings. The art market has changed so dramatically with the coming of the internet.
A lot of artists are doing a lot of different things. It'll be interesting to see where it all goes.
